Over an extended period of time at Managed Forex Research, the trading team developed a 100% automated intraday forex trading system to mirror the trading results their trading techniques had achieved over many years of trading.

It was a long road as contrary to the wealth of hype, optimised results, and clever marketing ploys found so freely on the Internet these days, creating a genuine trading robot that works faultlessly through all market scenarios is no small task.

In May 2007 testing begun using Velocity 4X as the broker, it went well, and soon after, in September of the same, year a selection of pioneer Members were invited to deposit funds into live trade, to be traded collectively through a 3rd party Multi Account Manager software (MAM). At that time, the third party MAM Velocity4X offered was the only option available to trade multiple client accounts utilizing a complex Metatrader Forex System such as ours.

All clients involved, during the period from September 2007 to Jan 2008, endured what the trading team considered to be a rough ride. However I disagree!

In my opinion, even though trading was not smooth sailing from day 1, the results achieved were better than most stockbrokers and mutual fund managers attempt to achieve annually. Yes there were constant freezes in the feed, incorrect allocation of profits, several changes of trading server and long periods of inactivity while technicians fixed what seemed to be a never ending stream of bugs and issues, causing no end of frustration; but ultimately the trading results were still good.

Having encountered all these issues we were still able to generate returns in excess of 31% net from inception in Sept 2007 to April 30, 2008, after a deduction of a 25% high water performance fee.

However, eventually fate lent a hand and accounts were moved to Gain Capital. There were initial delays as programming had to be re-written to allow for a floating spread 5th digit feed, ultimately this move proved to be a giant step forward as Gain Capital offers excellent back office technology which meant we were no longer required to trade through the 3rd party MAM software.

Incidentally and most importantly, we believe the issues we faced are now a thing of the past, plus since that time the trading team has added a 2nd robot that we feel compliments the 1st beautifully.
